VIAN – A game that was scheduled to be at Warner had to be moved to Vian due to field conditions and the Wolverines took full advantage.
Scoreless after one, the Eagles got on the board first in the second. Manny Terrill started on the bump for the Wolverines and ran into some tough sledding in the second inning.
Lubbock Drake Doubled to lead off the frame, followed by a Wolverine error and a walk to Ethan Glover to load the bases. With the bags loaded and no outs Terrill hit Jon Brown to force in the first run of the game..
Still with no outs Mike polecat came in in relief for Terrill and got a strikeout for the first out of the inning, but he followed with a walk to Colton Swimmer and a single to Jaxon Cash to give the Eagles a 3 run lead.
Vian answered in the bottom of the frame with singles by Terrill, Drake Collins, Chris Cheater and a double by Kaden Fulbright to take the lead 4-3 after two innings.
There was no scoring until the bottom of the fourth when Cash Collins doubled in Polecat and Draighton Fletcher to take the lead to 6-3 Wolverines. Kaden Fulbright added to that lead with a triple followed by a Jeremiah Marshall single to stretch the Vian lead to 9-3 after four innings.
The bottom of the next frame ended things with a Fletcher double an error by the Eagles Talon Longshore and three consecutive walks to invoke the run rule and give Vian the 11-3 win.
Vian finished with 12 hits, three by Fulbright and two each by Terrill and Marshall. Warner was held to five hits with 23 being the only Eagle with multi-hits with two.
The Eagles (4-9) will travel to Okay (3-4) tomorrow and Vian (15-4) will remain home to take on Rejoice Christian (7-12)
