WARNER – The Speed and determination of the Vian Wolverine defense was evident Wednesday as they shut down the 3-11 McCurtain Bulldogs 59-29 in the opening round of the Warner Eagle Classic Tournament

The first half of the contest remained close, but Vian outscored McCurtain in each quarter to take a 22-14 lead at the break.

It was the third quarter that opened it up for the Wolverines when Ledger Folsom scored 7 points, Masyn Wright, 5 points and Dee Antwine with 6 for a 23-point third quarter total and a 45-20 advantage after 3 quarters.

Folsom finished with 10 points, Wright had 9 points, Rylan Lane 9-points and Jeremiah Marshall had 8 on the night.

For the Bulldogs Jackson Blaylock finished with 8, Gunnar Oliver with 6 and Roxx Hume with 4 points.

With the win Vian will move on in the Winners Bracket Thursday to face the Host Warner at 8:00 pm at the Event Center. McCurtain will move to the Ronnie Hales Gym at 8:00 pm to face 9-7 Oktaha.
