Braggs- The Braggs Wildcats came home with the hardware Monday night by defeating the No 12 ranked Asher Indians in the regional final 59-29.

The usual fast start was there for Braggs, but the speed of the Indians defense held the Wildcats to 16 first quarter points and just 27 at the half.

Daryl Winter was instrumental in Braggs early success, scoring 13 points in the opening quarter. Winter went on to finish with 25 points, 9 of which came from long range for 3-pointers.

Trey Ashley and Sam Hensley each finished with 12 points. Ashley had three from long range and Hensley hit all of his 12 points from the bonus stripe. The Wildcats had ten 3-pointers as a team for the game.

The lone Indian to hit double figures was Mikey Vanschuyver who finished with 11 points.

Braggs full court press and defensive speed seemed to have Asher off balance all night. By the final period the Wildcats defense had slowed the Indians and only allowed 3 points in the final eight minutes.

With the win, Braggs (25-1) will face No.3 Stuart (28-1) in the opening round of the Area portion of the tournament. The winner of that contest earns a spot in the OSSAA State Tournament. The loser of that game will have one more chance to qualify for the State Tournament through the consolation Bracket.
