WEBBERS FALLS – The Webbers Falls Warriors stave off elimination Friday with a win over the Clayton Bulldogs 38-28.
The Bulldogs held the lead in the game until just before the half. It wasn’t until late in the second with a 15-8 second period the Warriors took control and held it for the rest of the contest.
Gunner Shelby had a 3-pointer plus a bucket in the second along with Thadan Yandell’s 3-pointer and a free throw to contribute to the 15-point second quarter to give them a 22-18 lead that they never relinquished.
Yandell end with a 12-point effort and Shelby 11 points on the night to lead the Warriors.
Clayton was led by Curt Gray with 14 points. No other Bulldogs were in double figures for the contest.
The Warriors will continue in the consolation bracket Saturday Afternoon at 2:00 when they will meet the Keota Lions for the consolation winner in the Boys division, while Claton was eliminated from competition with the loss
