WEBBERS FALLS – The Warriors added two to the win column Monday with a double header sweep of the Braggs Wildcats 11-3 and 11-4.

In the opening game of the day Braggs scored first on a sacrifice fly by L. Faulconer that scored L. Martin in the top of the first.

Webbers Falls answer didn’t come until the second inning when Preston Rowe doubled, Gunner Shelby singled and a Luke Pierce grounder scored Rowe to start the rally.

Maddux Shelby was intentionally walked to load the bases before a Braydan Robinson triple cleared the bags to put the Warriors on top 4-1

Ben Ward followed with a single to force in run number 5 for a 5-1 Warrior advantage.

In the top of the third, Wildcat singles by Faulconer and H. Edwards and a Brutus Robinson wild pitch, got Braggs within a run at 5-4.

In the bottom of the inning, singles by Elliott Kunkel, Pierce and Brutus Robinson scored two more runs, followed by a Ward single and a Rowe single that took the score to 11-4.

Braggs failed to score in the top of the fourth forcing the “Run Rule” and ending the game.

Brutus Robinson got the win for the Warriors allowing 4 runs (3 earned), walking 4 and striking out 8 Wildcat batters. Faulconer took the loss for Braggs allowing 10 hits, 11 runs (1 earned), walking 3 and striking out 5 Warriors.

In the second game, with Braydan Robinson on the hill for the Warriors, Braggs again managed a run in the top of the first on a Webbers Falls error when D. Winters crossed the plate, but the Warriors were able to squelch any further threats with two quick outs to end the inning.

In the bottom of the frame Brutus Robinson walked in front of Maddux Shelby who smoked a line drive over the right field wall for a 2-1 Warrior lead.

In the top of the second, Robinson had a bit of a control problem, walking the bases loaded before hitting Martin to force in a run to tie the game. Another walk to Winters followed by a Robinson balk  gave the lead back to Braggs 3-2 after two.

A Gunner Shelby single with one out put a runner on and Shelby took advantage by stealing 2nd and 3rd and then scoring on an error by the Wildcat catcher to tie the game once again.

After a scoreless Wildcat third, Webbers Falls opened the game up in their half of the inning, starting with a walk to Brutus Robinson, an intentional walk to Maddux Shelby and a single by Braydan Robinson that scored Brutus.

Ben Ward and Gunner Shelby followed with a walks in front of Caleb Dishman being hit by a pitch before a Trysten Wilbourn single scored Shelby and Ward to give the Warriors an 8-3 lead.

In the Webber Falls fourth, Maddux Shelby worked his way to third after a walk and scored on an error by the Wildcat shortstop.

Gunner Shelby later singled scoring Stryker Chappell to end the game by “Run Rule” 11-3.

Braydan Robinson got the win for the Warriors without allowing any hits but walking six batters and striking out 4. Winters took the loss for the Wildcats, going two innings and allowing 7 runs and 3 hits while walking five batters.
