WEBBERS FALLS –  Webbers Falls started off slow but came back with a big sixth inning to top the Braggs Wildcats 16-12 in an error filled contest.

In all, there were 13 errors between the two teams. Braggs had 8 and Webbers Falls 5, along with a total of 20 walks and 5 hit batters.

Gunnar Shelby started on the hill for the Warriors, but was chased in the first inning after a series of walks and hit batters along with Webbers Falls errors that allowed Braggs to take a 5-0 lead after their first at bat.

It all started with walks by Lakota Martin and Daryl Winter, Sam Hensley hit by a pitch, and an error by second baseman Ryan Cowan that gave the Wildcats their first two runs.

Shelby could not shake off his woes giving up a single to Mati Clark, followed by two more hit batters and the coach had seen enough. Elliott Kunkel came to the mound to finish the inning, but not before Braggs would score another run on an error by Hayden Stephans that scored the fifth Wildcat run.

The Warriors came back with three runs in the bottom of the frame on hits by Brutus Robinson, Ryan Cowan and Zane Nolan added by two Braggs errors to get the score within 2 runs at 5-3.

Webbers Falls took their first lead in the second 7-6 but it was short lived as the Wildcats came back with 4 runs in the third to go back in the lead 10-7.

Both teams went back in fourth in the middle innings to get the score to a tie at 11-11 after five.

The Bottom of the sixth told the tale with Webber Falls scoring 5 runs in the inning to get the win 16-12 in an error filled contest.

Braggs (3-5) will try it again Thursday when they return home to play 5A Will Rogers (2-14) and the Warriors (7-8) travel to Okay (1-4) that same day.
