WEBBERS FALLS– The Webbers Falls Warriors put up a fight the entire way but came up short to the Gans Grizzlies and were eliminated from the 2024 OSSAA Class B playoffs.
The first half went well for Webbers Falls led by Stryker Chappel who had 19 of his 28 points in the opening half and led 34-28 going into the lockers.
The third period began the downfall for the Warriors. Chappell was sent to the foul line ten times in the third, twice via technical fouls by the Grizzlies, and only hit 4-of-10. Gans outscored Webbers Falls 19-10 in the period to take a slim 47-45 lead.
In the fourth both defenses prevailed. Gans led by one point 54-53 with 2:05 remaining in the game and that score would hold all the way down to the 44 second mark.
With the Warriors having to foul to regain possession Gans took full advantage and pulled away to stay. Ashton Langston went 4-for-4 from the line for the Grizzlies late in the fourth to close the door on the Warriors and eliminate them from the playoffs.
Langston had 16 points as did Josh Brunk and Mayson Clifton followed with 14 for the night.
The Grizzlies will move on to the District title game Saturday night.
