SALLISAW – It took all 32 minutes to decide a winner in the opening game of the boys bracket of the Sequoyah County Tournament Tuesday at Sallisaw, as the Vian Wolverines (3-3) were taking on the Central Tigers (4-4).

An evenly matched contest throughout, tied at the half 32 all, was not decided until the final quarter when the Tigers pulled away in the final 3 minutes to top the Vian 63-60 at the final buzzer.

Yonsi Grass and Masyn Wright were the dynamic duo for the Wolverines with Grass scoring 31 points on the night and Wright contributing 21 points.

The Tigers Devon Baggs led the way for Central with 29 points, including three 3-pointers, and Noah Buzzard hit double figures with 11 points, with just one from beyond the bonus stripe.

Central will take on Muldrow (4-5) Thursday at 5:30 in the winners bracket, and The Wolverines are paired with the Gore Pirates (4-5) Wednesday at 5:30 in the consolation bracket.
