WARNER– The Quinton Lady Savages surged to a 21-7 lead over host Warner in the opening period Friday night at the Warner Eagle Classic. In fact, they led by 20 points early in the second.

The usual sharp shooting Lady Eagles were stymied by the speed and suffocating Quinton defense. Warner, a team that lives by the 3-pointer, was held to just two 3-point baskets in the contest.

Alexis Fowler, one of Warner’s 3-point sharpshooters was covered like a blanket by the Lady Savages defense and held to just 6 point and no 3-point scores.

Kaylen Park was the top point lady for the Lady Eagles with 11 points on the night and Kambree Ellis was next with 9.

The opening period onslaught was led by Quinton’s Alexis Purdom and Bailey Nester who each netted 7 points in the first, and Paislee Daniels had 5 accounting for 19 of Quinton’s 21 point opening period total.

The Undefeated Savages (16-0) will face their toughest test of the year Saturday night when they face 3A No.7 ranked Roland (13-2) in the tournament championship game. Roland is coming off a championship finish in the Sequoyah County Tournament held earlier this month.

Warner (11-3) will move on to the consolation bracket final against 2A No.12 Davis (14-2).
