
WEBBERS FALLS– It was senior night at Webbers falls but the Warriors stumbled to the Pocola Indians 12-3 in five innings.
With two outs in the top of the first the flood gates opened for Pocola when Ben Ward walked three consecutive batters and hit the fourth to allow the first run of the game for the Indians.
Ayden Hollan followed, getting hit by a pitch for another run and that was it for Ward. Luke Pierce came in to relieve Ward but his luck was about the same allowing a single to Logan Dunigan, hitting Sean Smith, followed by a Kyran Atkinson single and it was 6-0 Pocola in a hurry.
Webbers Falls opening inning yielded no runs, but Pocola picked up the action in the second. Trintan Pitsco started it with a single and the Warriors pitching woes took over again. Pierce Walked Aiden Howard, hit Tucker Thompson, walked Rylan Riggs hit Hollan and then walked Dunigan for the 9th Pocola run.
The blunders continued for the Warriors when a Maddux Shelby error allowed two more Indian runs taking the score to 11-0.
Webbers Falls did manage to get on the board in the second when after a Stryker Chappell walk, and a sac RBI grounder scored Chappell for the first Warrior run.
Webber would go on to add on in the third after three walks loaded the bases with one out and Chappell got hit forcing the second Warrior run. A Justin Cole single scored Shelby to take the score to 11-3.
In the top of the fifth a Carson Taylor walk scored Pitsco for Indians run number 12. Webber was not able to respond, and the game ended after 5 innings via the run rule.
Webbers Falls will head to Gore for the district tournament starting Tuesday with Gans and Gore, while 2A Pocola heads to Roland Thursday before beginning their 2A district tournament on the 27th.
