GORE – The Gore Pirates (13-6) jumped out early in the bottom of the first when Jackson Duke opened with a double followed by a Hunter McGee bunt single moving Duke to third.

The bunt-a-thon continued with a Ben Kirkpatrick sacrifice RBI bunt to third scoring Duke. Gabe Dozier took one for the team, getting hit by Indians pitcher Ayden Holland.

McGee, who had earlier stolen third, scored on yet another bunt, this time by Dane Perryman who got on thanks to an error and moved Dozier to second.

Gunnar Dozier singled advancing the runners and loaded the bases. B Barnes followed with a single to left. Jimmy Brasuell, who was running for the pitcher Perryman, scored along with Gunnar Dozier to give the Pirates a 4-0 lead after one inning.

Tyler Lane walked to open the third and stole second. Jackson Duke moved Lane to third on a ground out. McGee followed with a single scoring Lane and Gore lead 5-0.

Pocola (8-5) got on the board in the third inning when after a walk to T Buckley, he advanced to second on a wild pitch and later scored on a Perryman error off the bat of Trintan Pitsco. AJ Lyons-Jerrell followed with a 2-run home run to left to bring the game within 2 runs 5-3.

Gunnar Dozier came in in relief of Perryman and went one-two-three with a strike out, ground out and pop up to end the Indians rally.

Gore scored two more in the bottom of the third thanks to three wild pitches that ended the day for Holland and saw Drew Jones come in in relief.

Pocola got one back in the bottom of the inning when Lyons-Jerrell scored on a Sean Smith single, and the Indians were back to within 3-runs 7-4.

The Pirates half of the inning provided four hits, a hit batter, a walk, and an error providing Gore with 5 additional runs to put the game out of reach for the Indians and handed the Pirates the 12-4 victory for their fifth consecutive win.

Pocola will stay on the road to compete in the 3-day Central Sallisaw tournament on the 13th thru the 15th and Gore will travel to Porum to take on the 12-7 Panthers next Monday.
