WARNER – The Warner Eagles Homecoming celebration was dampened on the football field by a 20-15 loss to the Porter Pirates.
Junior quarterback Talon Shaffer led the Eagles offence on the ground and in the air with 174 rushing yards on 23 attempts and completing 4 of 14 passing attempts for an additional 64 yards.
Logan Collins had 13 carries for 94 yards. Warner totaled 345 total yards of offense for the game but fell short in the score 20-15.
Colt Thompson had one catch for Warner for a 40-yard gain along with Derek Kohl with one for 10-yards. Kade Fowler, a Freshman, accounted for the other two catches for a total of 14-yards gained.
On the defensive side of the ball, Collins and Dalton Carter each managed a fumble recovery.
The Eagles will begin their 2025 district schedule next Friday when they travel to Pocola and the Pirates and Porter will return home to take on Woodland in their district opener
