WEBBERS FALLS – The Keota Lions eliminated the Watts Engineers on day 2 of the Arkansas River Classic at Webbers Falls with a convincing 59-36 win.
The game was close after one quarter, (15-13) Keota, but by the half Keota began pulling away, holding the Engineers to 6 points in the second, to take a 25-19 lead at the half.
In the third, four Lions contributed to the run with Diesel Logan knocking down two three-pointers, Hunter Pollard and Maddox Howard each scoring 4 points, and Riggin Buchanan adding 7 points.
Pollard was the top scorer for Keota with 23 points on the night, with Buchanon totaling 17 points.
For Watts it was mostly Donovan Bird contributing most of the points with 26 of th 36 Engineers total.
With the win, Keota will go on in the consolation Bracket to face Webbers Falls at 2:00pm Saturday, and Watts was eliminated from the tournament.
