VIAN- The Lady Wolverines were looking good after two innings but then came the top of the third. The Central Sallisaw Tigers unloaded with 13 runs in the top of the third, some via the bat and some via the walk.
For Vian in the second, Scarlett Fields singled to score Rayleigh Terrill and get the Wolverines on the board. Eden Girty managed an RBI with a fly to center that scored R McEver to tie things up at 2-all.
Halli Russell doubled on a fly ball that evaded the glove of Central’s center fielder scoring Leila Cheater and Fields.
The Lady Wolverines were on top 4-2, but not for long. J Gonzalez reached on an error by Girty followed by singles from C Petree and A Howard.
This is when the wheels fell off for Vian. A walk, an error, a hit batter, another walk, another hit batter and yet another walk all of a sudden saw Vian trailing 11-4
Central wasn’t done yet. After a pop out for the second out of the inning they followed with two more walks and another error to bring the score to 15-4, Tigers.
After a three-and-out Vian third, Central went right back to work. Two singles and a walk made it 16-4, Central and with two outs the Lady Wolverines mistakes continued with an error, three more walks for the 20-5 final score.
In all, 3 Vian pitchers walked 12 Tiger hitters, and the defense committed 12 errors over four innings.
Vian (6-13) will be back at it tomorrow at home vs. Porum (15-4) and the Lady Tigers (1-10) return home to take on Hulbert (6-9)
