WEBBERS FALLS – The Gore Lady Pirates (4-3) came out on top Thursday night 53-34 when they crossed the river to visit the neighboring Webbers Falls Lady Warriors (3-4).
Gore set the tone early when they speed out to a 25-8 lead in the first period.
Kennedy Williams and River Shoemake were key in that lead scoring 8 points each In the opening 8 minutes.
Webbers Falls kept up with Gore in the second period outscoring the Lady Pirates 10-8 mostly thanks to Freshman Allie Patterson who scored all 10 of the Lady Warriors.
Patterson scored three from the floor along with a 3-pointer and 1 from the free throw line to give Webbers Falls all 10 points in that period.
Patterson was the top scorer for Webbers Falls with 18 points for the game. No other Warrior was in double figures.
For Gore it was Williams and Shoemake topping the charts with Shoemake scoring 13 points and Williams with 11.
Emily Daily was also in double figures with 10 points half of which came from the foul line with Daily going 5-for-8 from the charity stripe.
The two teams will meet again at Gore after the Holidays on January 13th for the rematch.
