GORE – In the Lady Pirates last game at the Armstrong Bank Tournament, they took the “W” over the Braggs Lady Wildcats 35-24.
The Gore girls jumped out to a 15-4 lead after one period thanks mainly to Kennedy Williams who scored 5 in the first, along with Emily Daily who also scored 5, and a 3-pointer from Ricki Huckboy to contribute to the 15-point opening quarter.
Williams was the top scorer for Gore with 10 points and was selected the team’s best player for the tournament. Williams 10 point day was followed closely by Rayleigh Moore with 9 for the game.
On the Wildcats side of the ball, it was Katelyn Chandler leading the way with 14 points. Chandler was selected Braggs team MVP for the tournament.
Kaylee Ashley netted 6 points (both were 3-pointers), and Denise Adams had the other 2 points for the Wildcats.
The Gore ladies (1-3) will hit the hardwood next on Tuesday night when they take on the Lady Mustangs of Arkoma (1-4), and Braggs (2-6) will remain on the road to take on the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors (2-3) in a game that will be covered by CSSNOK.
