GORE – The Gore Lady Pirates took on the 4A Checotah Wildcats Monday afternoon in their regular season finale and fell short 8-1 after a big Checotah opening inning.

The Wildcats put up 7 runs in the first inning helped by walks to Hailey Prince and another Wildcat, a single by Makyah Black and , three Doubles, two by Maci Britt and Aurora Madewell and a triple and single by another Checotah hitter.

The Lady Pirates were held to just one hit, a single by C Shoemake that produced the only Pirate run.

Gore did not have any errors in the game and turned a double play in the third inning on a fly ball to Left field

The Pirates will head to Dewar for their district playoff with the Dragons later this week. The Wildcats 4A regional round has not been posted as of press time.
