WEBBERS FALLS – The Keota Lady Lions eliminated the Watts Lady Engineers on day 2 of the Arkansas River Classic at Webbers Falls with a convincing 46-21 win.
It was evident early on who was the better team when Keota and Watts met in the second round of the tournament.
The lady Lions opened up a quick 11 point advantage in the first eight minutes 16-5, and it just got better from there for Keota.
Ady Maxwell put up 12 points for Keota in the first half including two three-pointers to give the Lady Lions a 30-11 lead at the half.
Maxwell, with limited play in the second half, went on to score 2 more for a 14-point total to lead the Keota Ladies.
Jaybree Foster was net highest lady, just missing double figures with 9 for the night.
For the Lady Engineers it was Haley Stark leading the way with 10 points that included two from beyond the bonus stripe for 3-pointers.
With the Watts loss they were eliminated from the tournament and with the win, the Lady Lions will continue in the consolation bracket to face Clayton Saturday at 12:40.
