WARNER- The Warner Lady Eagles made quick work of the Porter Pirates Thursday night with a 3-inning 16-1 victory on Senior night.
The Eagles brought 14 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first inning, scoring 11 runs to take a commanding lead.
Porter started the game with a slight threat after two Pirates walked with no outs in the top of the inning, but senior pitcher Jensyn Foreman settled down striking out the next two batters and a routine ground ball ended the inning to keep the Pirates off the board.
After a one-two-three second inning for Porter, Warner posted 5 more runs in the second to bring the score to 16-0.
The Pirates managed a single run in the top of the third but with a 15-run lead the game was ended via the “Mercy Rule” after three innings.
The Lady Eagles (17-7) will take the field next Monday against the Porum Panthers (22-9) in preparations for the play-offs that will start in two weeks at Pocola.
Porter (9-20) will remain on the road and travel to Preston (25-4) Friday afternoon.
