WARNER– After trailing after one period the Warner Lady Eagles (14-4) picked up the pace before the half to eke out a 2-point advantage over the Okemah Lady Panthers (14-5) at the half 21-19.

After the break Warner increased the lead to  7 points (37-30)in the third period, but then the wheels fell off.

A tight aggressive Lady Panther defense kept the potent No. 8 Warner offense off the board in the final period, with the exception of two free throws, while scoring 14 points in the final period to gain the 44-39 victory.

Alexis Fowler was the top scorer for the Lady Eagles with 15 points although only 3 came from beyond the bonus line. Fowler was kept off the scoreboard in the opening period going 0-4 from outside.

Harlie Chesser was also in double figures for Warner with 10 points.

The Lady Panthers were led by Raven Deer with 15 points, 9 of which came in the 4th period Okemah rally that settled the contest.

Maddie Gaxiola also hit the double figure mark with 12 points including two buckets from the outside corner for 3’s.

Okemah will travel to Stroud (8-11) next Tuesday and the Lady Eagles will be right back at it this Friday when they travel to Kinta to take on the Lions (10-13)
