WARNER – The No. 5 Warner Lady Eagles manhandled the Nathan Hale Lady Rangers 59-18 in the opening round of the Cherokee Classic Tournament at Warner Thursday night.

The Warner starters were played sparingly after the opening five minutes saw Alexis Fowler hit three 3-pointers early in the opening period. Fowler finished with 12 points for the game but played just part of the opening two periods.

Harlie Chesser, who had about the same playing time as Fowler, was next with 10 points.

Almost every Lady Eagle hit the scoreboard with the second and third string players all getting playtime over the four quarters.

Jayla Moreland scored 7 points for Hale and netted the only 3-pointer for the Lady Rangers while Aysa Brown was next high with 6 points.

The Rangers will move to the consolation bracket to take on the Morris Lady Eagles Friday at 7:00 pm in the Ronnie Hales Gym while Warner moves on to challenge Okay at that same time in the Warner Event Center.

The tournament will run thru Saturday with the Championship games scheduled for 7:00 and 8:30 pm.
