WARNER – The No. 8 ranked Lady Eagles defeated the Pocola Lady Razorbacks 52-31 to advance to the finals of the class 2A Regional tournament.

With the win Warner (18-6) will take on No. 9 Pocola (19-6) Saturday night at Wilburton for the Regional title.

Warners defense was tough from the start, keeping the Razorbacks on the outside forcing low percentage shots that mostly went array, leading to a 14-7 lead after one period and a halftime advantage of 22-13.

The big push came in the third period with the Lady Eagles outscoring Panama 18-5 in the third to take a commanding 40-18 lead after three periods. Kaylen Park hit for 7 of her 11 points in the third, along with Ava Peters with 4 and Harlie Chesser with 5.

Alexis Fowler was back on her long game going 4-for-5 from the outside for her 12 point contribution to Warner’s total. Chesser was the top scorer for the Lady Eagles with 17 points, Fowler followed with 12 and Park had 11 points.

For Panama Sophie Pulice topped the charts with 11 points for the night including three 3-pointers. Gunny Sons was next with 8 points. Kaylee Gollihare and Madison Dalmert were the only other Lady Razorbacks to score from the floor, Gollihare with 5 points and Dalmert with 2.

Both teams will advance to the next round, Panama in the consolation bracket in a must win contest with the Hulbert Riders Friday at 6:00, and Warner will take on Pocola Saturday at 6:00, with both teams advancing to the Area IV tournament in Roland beginning on the 29th of February.
