
WARNER – The Warner Lady Eagles (19-7) topped the Porum Panthers 7-1 Monday night in a non-conference game at Warner.
Warner started their freshman ace Ella LaBounty who struck out 13 Porum hitters and limited the Panthers to 3 hits, just one for extra bases, a double by Mesa Coulston in the 3rd inning. Coulston had 2 of the Panthers 3 hits. Zoe Davis managed the only other hit, an RBI single in the 5th inning.
Coulston started in the circle for Porum (22-10) allowing 11 hits and 7 runs (only 1 earned) and took the loss for the Panthers, their tenth of the season.
The big blow to the Panthers came in the fifth inning when after two errors, hits by Harlie Chesser, Ava Peters, Kaylen Parks, and Taillon Ashmore scored four runs and put the game out of reach for Porum.
Both teams will head for their respective playoff tournament sites beginning Thursday. Warner will travel to Pocola for the regional round and open with Allen (16-13) at 2:00pm and Porum will host their district tournament with Cameron (4-14) and Crowder (11-11) beginning Thursday.
