WARNER – The Keys Lady Cougars got by the Lady Eagles of Warner Monday night in a closely contested game at the Warner event center.

Tied after one period tied at 11-11 the game was never separated by more than 5 points with the lead changing hands several times.

Kambree Ellis with 7 points for the Lady Eagles and Kenlee Comer with 7 points for Keys provided most of the scoring in the period.

The two teams left the floor at halftime with the Lady Cougars ahead by one basket 21-19.

After the break it was the Lady Eagles with a big push that took them to the lead 32-27 after three periods. Addison Upton and Ella LaBounty were key in the period, both scoring 3-pointers. Upton hit one and LaBounty twice.

In the final period the Lady Cougars went to the full court press and took control of the game. The change in defense seemed to frustrate Warner who were held to just 11 points in the final eight minutes.

Keys in the meanwhile, scored 16 in the final period to overtake the Lady Eagles and win the contest with a score of 47-43 at the final buzzer.

Ellis was the highest scorer for Warner with 15 points, and LaBounty also had double figures with 12 points.

For Keys it was Comer topping the charts with 14 points and Paizlee Zodrow close behind with 12 points for the night.

2A Warner (15-10) ranked No.20 in the 2A class will open their District Playoffs Thursday night at Wewoka, while No.6 ranked 3A Keys (16-6) returns home for their regular season finale Tuesday against Kansas (21-1) who are ranked No.10 in class 2A.
