Stryker Chappell put the Warriors on top fast with three 3-pointers in the opening 8 minutes, but late in the quarter the Hornets picked up the pace and led at the end of one 27-26 thanks in part to 3- pointers from Elijah Teehee, Arik Duncan, and Jakob Cheater.
Talon Holmes pushed Cave Springs into a one point lead by the break with 8 points in the second period including two threes.
Holmes hit two more threes in the third and Isiah Sams added one and the Hornets went in front 38-33 after three periods.
In the final 8 minutes the Warriors outscores Cave Springs 11-6 and after regulation the totals stood at 44-44 to force and overtime.
The first 4 minute overtime was strange to say the least. Webbers Falls started the possession by holding the ball near mid-court for an entire 2 minutes without a single move. After missing a shot, the Hornets took possession and held the ball for all but a few seconds and missed the buzzer beater to force a second overtime.
The second OT was more conventional with both teams trying to score from the onset. The Warriors fell behind by 4 points and never made it up to give Cave Springs the win 52-48 and the Consolation Bracket title.
Chappell led the Warriors with 20 points. Shelby was also in double figures with 10 points.
Holmes was top point man for the Hornets with 20 points and Duncan finished with 10.
