WARNER – The Warner Eagles made a comeback overtime buzzer beater win in a nail biter over the Okay Mustangs Tuesday night 54-52.

Warner trailed by as many as 17 points early in the contest and by 7 as late as the 2:26 mark of the final quarter. That’s where the comeback began. By the 1:13 mark the gap was just 2 points, and the Eagles later tied the score to take the game to overtime.

In the 4 minute overtime session it was mostly defense. Each team had scored just 2 points and the clock read 0:26 with the Eagles in possession and the game tied at 52.

Warner brought the ball down the court and coach Porter called a time out with just 7 ticks remaining. When play returned it was Jaxson Cash with the game winner at the 1 second mark for the 54-52 win.

Cash was the second highest scorer for the Eagles with Rylan Cash topping the Warner score sheet.  11 of those points coming in the second period to keep his team within 9 at the break.

For the Mustangs Chase Clark led Okay with 18 points, all in the first half, and Trapper Walker was next with 16 points. Talon Longshore had three Buckets for long range 3-pointers to add 9 to the Mustangs total.

Okay will begin their District Class A Playoffs with a No.4 ranking in their division at Garber. Warner won’t begin their playoffs until next week in the 2A division.
