WARNER – The Warner Eagles took care of business in the final game of the opening day of the Warner Eagles Classic by defeating the Oktaha Tigers 56-43 in the final game of the day.
After ending the first half with a slim 22-19 lead, the Eagles opened up in the third quarter outscoring Oktaha 19-9 to lead by 13 points, 41-28 after three.
Jaxon Cash and James Jones provided most of the points in the third, Cash with 8, and Jones with 6. Cash ended with 19 points for the game, and Jones had 15 on the night.
The Eagle top scorer was Rylan Cash with 20 points, including 2 buckets from beyond the bonus line for 3-pointers. Cash was instrumental in the final period scoring 9 of Warner’s 14-point in the final eight minutes.
For Oktaha it was Luke Edwards on the top of the scoresheet with 12 points, Raif Bacon was next with 9, Ryder Mullen had 6, and Kaden Osborne 5 points.
Warner will be back in action Thursday night at the Event Center at 8:00 pm when they take on the Vian Wolverines in the Winners Bracket.
Oktaha will meet McCurtain at the same time at the Ronnie Hales Gym in the Consolation Bracket.
