WARNER – The Warner Eagles opened the scoring Friday night four minutes into the game on a Jace Jackson keeper over the right side of the Panthers defense.
On a 3rd down and 12 Blake Gaxiola took it past the goal line from the 5 yard line for Okemah, but a missed extra point try left the Panthers 1 point short at 7-6 with 0:35 remaining in the opening period.
A Jackson to Reed Pickering bomb got Warner down to the 7 yard line and Lubbock Drake finished the drive with a score on a hand off from Jackson with 7:19 left in the half.
Warner would strike one more time before the half when Jackson connected with Pickering again, this time for 17-yards and a score, to close out the first half scoring at 20-6 Warner.
In the second half Pickering picked off a Cameron Swayze pass at the 47 yard line but the drive stalled, and the Warner punt was returned to the 23-yard line.
Two plays later Swayze connected with Landon Lee with a touchdown pass, but a 2-point try failed to make it 20-12 Eagles.
Late in the fourth the Eagles managed another touchdown with less than a minute remaining when freshman Memphis Swimmer, in for Jackson, hit Pickering for his third of the night with just 6 ticks left on the clock.
The 26-12 victory brought the Eagles to 2-3 and the Panthers fell to 1-4 on the year.
Warner will visit Henryetta (2-3) next Friday and Okemah will host division leader Vian (3-2)
