WARNER – After a rough season the Warner Eagles were rewarded with a win for their last game of the year. It came at the expense of the Roland Rangers by a score of 27-9.

A long opening drive that consumed half of the first quarter ended with a Memphis Swimmer to Keden Moseley toss into the right corner of the end zone for an Eagles touchdown.

The two connected again in the second quarter for a 63-yard touchdown on a pass down the left sideline for a 14-0 Warner lead.

The Rangers managed a 23-yard field goal by Logan Mikal Lorenz to get Roland on the board to make the score 14-3, Warner at the half.

The Eagles got on the board again in the third quarter with 1:52 remaining in the period when Lubbock Drake punched the ball in from the 4 yard line for a score to stretch the lead to 21-3 Warner.

With 9:50 remaining in the game Swimmer hit freshman Dee Antwine in the left corner of the endzone but the extra point try failed.

Roland would finally get on the board late on a Dalton Crossno touchdown, but the 2-point try failed and left the score at 27-9 with 3:49 left in the contest.

Warner may have an easier path next season since they will no longer be classified as a 2A school since the OSSAA has split the Class A division into two categories due to the number of schools that fall into Class A. The Eagles will compete in Class A-I in a district that will include Stroud, Hartshorne, Haskell, Okemah, Panama, Pocola, and Wewoka.
