
WARNER– The Warner Eagles brought 13 batters to the plate in their opening inning and jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead over the Central Tigers Monday night.
Warner managed six hits in the inning including a doubles by Cole Mayfield and Colton Swimmer, a triple by Jace Jackson and a shot over the left field wall by Austin Spradlin for a homer.
The Tigers threatened in the second after Adam Thompson came in in relief of an injured Wyatt Hamilton and walked Aidan Sainer, Hardy Buzzard, and M Ariza, but Beau Thomas came in to save the day for the Eagles, striking out Logan Roulle and forced a fielder’s choice ground out to third baseman Justin Duke for the final out of the inning.
In the third, up by 7 runs, Duke led off by getting hit by Central’s pitcher Bo Locust. a Mayfield sacrifice was good for the RBI, scoring Duke. Thompson then scored thanks to a Jackson single.
Caden Thompson, Spradlin, Lubbock Drake all followed with singles before a Swimmer single scored Spradlin to end the game via the run rule 12-0 after three innings.
The 13th ranked Eagles will remain home to take on Mounds (9-9) Tuesday, while Central (8-12) travel to the Checotah Tournament Thursday thru Saturday.
