WARNER – The Warner Eagles led the Oktaha Tigers by 15 points early in the third period and just barely held on for the 49-44 win.

The Eagles outscored Oktaha 27-13 in the first half and looked to be running away with their opening game of the tournament, but the Tigers had other ideas.

After the half, Oktaha railed to score more points in the third period than in the entire first half to close the gap to 9 points 38-29.

Kayden Harris scored half of his 16 points in the third quarter to help close the gap.

The Rally continued in the final period outscoring Warner 15-11 in the final quarter, and at one point getting within 3 points of the Eagles. But that rally fell short when the Tigers were forced to foul to regain possession.

Warner was led by Ryland Cash with 18 points, including three 3-pointers. Dee Antwine was next with 13 points, two from long range, and Jaxon Cash was the other Eagle in double figures with 10 points.

Warner will move on to play Wilburton in the second round, while Oktaha faces Westville Friday afternoon
