WARNER – The Central Sallisaw Tigers put a damper on the Home opener for the Warner Eagles Friday night, cruising to a 52-36 win.
Slow starts in both the first and second halves doomed Warner. Outscored 12-5 in the opening period, and 17-7 after the break, was just too much to recover from.
The second sessions of both halves were much closer with the Eagles besting Central 12-11 in the second and knotting the fourth 12-12.
Jaxon Cash was the main contributor for Warner with 22 points on the night with James Jones second best with 9 points. Ryland Cash had just 2 points on the night, but they were marked with an exclamation point by a Dunk early in the opening period.
The Tigers main contributor was senior Noah Buzzard with 19 points (3-for-3 from the foul line) with Josh Brunk next with 9 points and Gavin Randolph with 8.
Warner will face Oktaha next on Tuesday night and Central will play again next in the Gore Tournament next Friday after a first round BYE Thursday.
