KEYS – The Keys Cougars came out swinging Monday night with a 21-8 lead after one quarter as they hosted the Quinton Savages.
Joe Green got the Cougars off to a hot start scoring the games first 8 points on way to a 12-point opening period advantage. Green was top scorer on the court with 27 points for Keys.
The Savages did well in the 3-point department netting eight 3’s on the night. Kaiden Gabbart and Bret Bray led the way in that category for Quinton with three 3-pointers each.
For Keys, Green hit five from long range in the contest and Chase Jones had four. Jones was the second-highest point getter for the Cougars with 12 points. London Iron and Nathan Rogers were also in double figures, Iron with 11 and Rogers with 10.
Quinton came alive a bit in the final period, equaling Keys with 17 points each in the final session. For the Savages, Bray had 16 points and J West was next with 12.
Keys (15-9) hit the court again Tuesday night when they play 19th-ranked Howe (11-12), and Quinton ended their season with a 2-15 record.
