WARNER– The game wasn’t as close as the score as the No. 1 ranked Class A Okay Mustangs dominated the 2A Warner Eagles 63-52 Tuesday night in Warner.

From the onset the Mustangs speed was evident as they held Warner to 13 points in the opening period and scored 20 to jump out to a 20-13 lead after one.

The real damage came in the second period when the Mustang shut down defense held the Eagles to just 5 points in the 8 minute span of the second quarter to lead at the half 37-18.

Diezel Davis, Titi Ramos, and Chase Clark were the main contributors in the first half for Okay

The Eagles opened with Blake Ellis under the net three times in the first but shut the big man down in the second period.

Warner kept pace in the third quarter with each team scoring 14 points and closed the gap in the final period outscoring the Mustangs 19-12, but it was too little too late.

Jace Jackson was the high scorer in the third with points and Jaxson Cash topped the fourth scoring 15 of his 20 points in the final period.

Cash ended with 20 points, Jackson had 14, and Ellis had 12 on the night.

For the Mustangs it was Tito Ramos leading the way with 17 points, Chase Clark with 15, and Duckee Swimmer with 12. Diezel Davis just missed double figures with 9 points, all coming from outside the 3-point line.

With a Bye in the first round the Mustangs (20-4) will return home Saturday night to face the winner of Cave Springs vs. Keota in the Class A District 2 final, while 2A Warner (11-10) will have one more regular season test against Hartshorne (11-8) next Monday.
