BRAGGS – The speed of the Wildcats starting five was on full display Friday night as the ran by the Webbers Falls Warriors 62 – 23.

After a 5 point loss to Kinta in their opening game of the year, the Class B Wildcats (5-1) have dominated their opponents who have been mostly Class A schools.

In Fridays contest Braggs held a slim lead after the opening period by a score of 9-4, but it was the second period that put the game away for the Wildcats.

A 26-point period, led by the 3-point shooting of Sam Hensley who nailed four in-a-row from beyond the bonus stripe, propelled Braggs to a 35-10 lead at the break.

The 3-pointer accounted for 36 of the Wildcats 62 point total. Hensley had the most with 4, Trey Ashley hit for 3, and Daryl Winter, Hazen Edwards, Blaise McMahon and Mengla Xiong each had one.

Stryker Chappel topped the scoring for the Warriors with 13 of Webbers Falls 23 point total.

The Warriors (1-1) will have Weleetka up next in the Wilson Tournament next Tuesday, and Braggs will be back on the court Friday and Saturday at the Porum Tournament.
