GORE– The Gans Lady Grizzlies and the Lady Pirates from Gore had a hard time getting the ball in the hoop in the first half at Gore Tuesday night. Gans managed 10 points and Gore just 8 in the opening 16 minutes.

After the half the Lady Pirates came back to the court inspired, scoring 16 points in the third to take an eight point lead thanks in part to the 7-point contribution from Kaitlyn Byrne. Byrne finished with 11 points on the night and was the top scorer for the Lady Pirates.

Natalie Casteel had just 4 points for the entire game, but her 2-point contribution in the final period (the only 2 points score by the Pirates in the fourth) was just enough to push Gore past the Lady Grizzlies for the 26-25 win.

For Gans, Melania Paniagua was the top point lady with 10 points with Brianna Burris next with 7.

The Lady Grizzlies (5-10) will remain on the road traveling to Central (Sallisaw) (13-3) Thursday night to take on the Lady Tigers and Gore (4-13) will remain home to take on Dewar (10-3) Friday night.
