WARNER– After Leading for the entire contest the Warner Lady Eagles surrendered the lead at 4:31 of the final period and fell to the Okay Lady Mustangs 37-32.

It was a strong start for Warner who opened up a 12-3 advantage after the opening period. Stormi Lynch hit for a 3-pointer in the period, but that became the only time the usual sharpshooting Lady Eagles would score from beyond the bonus stripe.

By the half the Lady Mustangs closed the gap with a big second period outscoring Warner 12-5 in the second. Alex Collins, Teagan James, and Evie Spangler each had 3-pointers in the period.

The game changer came in the final session with both Collins and Jayden Berry scoring 7 points in the final period. Collins finished with 15 points and Berry was close behind with 13 for the night.

The Lady Eagles were led by Ava Peters and Kaylen Park who each had 8 points.

The eighth ranked Lady Eagles (15-6) will have one more shot to “right the ship” before the 2A District tournament next Monday when they take on No.14 Hartshorne (12-9), and Okay (18-6) will return home to open the Class A District Tournament this Saturday when they face the winner of Keota vs. Cave Springs which will be played Friday evening at Okay.
