CHECOTAH – It was quite a night Friday night when the Checotah Wildcats (3-1, 1-0) opened their district 3A-3 season at home with a homecoming celebration and a 63-6 win over the Daniel Webster Warriors (0-4, 1-0).

It was almost over before it began. In the first quarter Jacob Barrett and Dontairre Fisher led the way on offence for Checotah. Barrett and Fisher, the Wildcats main point getters, managed 5 touchdowns in the opening 12 minutes alone. Barrett contributed on the other score, a 54-yard touchdown pass to Brenden Dan.

Fisher commented on his 70-yard TD run by saying, “I saw nothing but holes, open grass”. He added, “We have to stay focused and put this win behind us”

With a 50-6 halftime lead and a running clock, Barrett and fisher got the rest of the night off. Trenton Dan relieved Barrett at QB and Elijah Fuller became the feature back for Checotah.
