It all started out normally when after a Muskogee rally in the first put three runs on the board, the Lady Cats responded with two in the bottom of the frame to keep the score within one run.
The second inning also went well for Checotah with a 1-2-3 performance but then came the top of the third.
It started with a walk to Kaesyn York by Wildcat pitcher Hailey Prince and the flood gates then began to open. Kambri Johnson, Avery Ragsdale, Feather Johnson, and Jaye Barnoski reached on four consecutive singles that put up 3 runs for the Roughers and after a Prince strikeout of Shelby Morris, the mistakes came fast and furious.
Five errors over the next 5 batters allowed Muskogee to put up five additional runs and put the game out of reach with a score of 11-2 after three innings.
The Roughers fourth was an offensive show with bunt single by Bernoski a double by pitcher Jaliyah Simmons and a triple by York that plated four more. The Cats managed two runs in the bottom of the fourth, but it was way too little way to late resulting in the final tally of 15-4 in favor of Muskogee
With the win Muskogee improved their record to 8-10 while Checotah fell to 1-13. The Wildcats try it again Tuesday when they host undefeated Muldrow (9-0) in a District contest and Muskogee returns home to face 4A Berryhill (8-2) that same day.
