GORE – The Gore Pirates shutout the Class B McCurtain Bulldogs Monday night 12-0 in a run rule shortened 3-inning contest.

Dane Perriman was on the hill for the Pirates completing the no-hit shoutout in three inning walking just two Bulldogs and striking out three hitters.

It started early for the Pirates. In the bottom on the first when Hunter McGee walked with one out and Dane Perriman stroked a triple in the gap in right-center to open the scoring.

Ben Kirkpatrick beat out a grounder to shortstop Zane Cooper, scoring Perriman for a 2-0 Pirate lead.

In the top of the second, Perriman walked Kyven West and hit the next batter, Clayne Honeycutt, but the Bulldogs couldn’t take advantage. Perriman struck out the next two batters to end the inning and keep the advantage at 2-0.

The flood gates opened in the bottom of the second for Gore starting with a single by Gabe Dozier. Lane Ward followed with a double, scoring Dozier. The next batter, Tyler Lane walked. Jackson Duke than tripled scoring Ward, but lane was caught at the plate trying to score.

McGee went yard on a shot over the left field wall to put the Pirates up 6-0 with still only one out in the inning.

After a Perriman strike out, an error by second baseman Ward put Dozier on and the Merry-Go-Round started with walks to Ben Kirkpatrick, Blane Barnes, Gabe Dozier and Ward to put Gore up 8-0.

Barnes and Dozier both scored on a wild pitch before Duke grounded out to end the inning with a 10-0 Pirate lead.

A walk to Brandon Collins started the third for the Bulldogs, but a 5-4-3 double play cleared the bases. Perryman ended the inning with a strikeout.

In the bottom of the inning McGee opened with a single and then stole second and third before scoring on a wild pitch to take Gore’s total to 11. Gunner Dozier followed with a single to left. Jimmy Brasuell was brought in to run for Dozier and stole second before a Kirkpatrick single scored Brasuell to end the game with the twelfth Pirate run.

KJ Wright and Zane Cooper split the pitching duties for McCurtain, each giving up 6 runs on a total of 9 Pirate hits.

McCurtain (2-3) will stay on the road to take on the Porum Panthers (6-5) Tuesday night, while Gore, now 8-2,  travels to  Class 2A Panama to take on the tenth ranked 7-3 Razorbacks.
