GORE– The Gore Pirates and the Sallisaw Central Tigers (17-9) got together Monday afternoon for a Pre-Regional tune up. The Coaches decided to play 2 contests, one for seven innings and another for only three.
The shortened second game was to be expected since the Class A Pirates (22-12) will have to play Thursday in Wister for their regional tournament. They will need all pitchers rested since Gore will face off against Crowder at 1:30 pm. and play another game at either 4:00 or 6:30 depending on the outcome of the opener.
The Tigers have another week to prepare since the 2A Regional tournaments won’t begin until May 6th.
We wish both squads the best of luck in their pursuit to qualify for their respective OSSAA State tournaments.
