Warner – The consolation final in the Girls division of the 2022 Cherokee Classic Tournament held at Warner High School was a face-off between the Morris Lady Eagles and the Lady Tigers of Liberty that went down to the final buzzer.

The Tigers started with the lead and never trailed in the contest. That was until the last second of the game.

The Eagles Emma Duclos had 9 points in the contest with three 3,s on the night but none more important that the last swisher with 1 second remaining to give the Lady Eagles a 1-point 33-32 win over the Liberty Tigers.

Morris, who trailed the entire game kept creeping closer in the final period. The Eagles took possession at the 15 second mark trailing by 2 points, instead of rushing the basket for the tie, Duclos got an open shot at the top of key from beyond the bonus line and nailed the 3-pointer to give Morris the win and a third place finish in the tournament.

Duclos was the high scorer for the Lady Eagles with 9 points, Kealeah Barnett had 8 and Jessica Wilson finished with 7 points.

The Lady Tigers were led by Jen Boone with 12 points, Lindsey Plummer with 7 and Lia Estrada and Jaida Cargil each with 5 points.
