GORE – The Lady Pirates (7-6) fell behind in the second inning to the neighboring Warner Lady Eagles (0-11) but thanks to a two RBI single by Paige Curran in the bottom of the sixth, the Pirates came out on top with the 8-7 comeback win.
It looked as if the winless Warner squad had a shot at their first victory, but Eagles pitcher Jensyn Foreman couldn’t
hold on in sixth. Despite the Lady Eagles staunch defense that turned two timely double plays late, Warner fell short in the tightly contested game.
The Pirates will be back in action Thursday afternoon to take on Preston at home, while Warner waits until next Tuesday when Gore travels West for the rematch at the Eagles Nest.
