GORE – The Gore Lady Pirates (8-9) came into Friday’s game with a 5 game winning streak but ran into a red hot Webbers Falls team (16-1) who had won 13 of their last 14 contests.

Gore kept the game close throughout keeping pace with the Warriors who seemed a bit off on their usual outside shooting. It was the Pirates rebounding that held them in the game early.

Skye Brookshire was the top point getter for the Pirates with 20 points. Brookshire’s effort was aided by four baskets from beyond the bonus stripe. K Springer was the other Pirate in double figures with 10 points.

The Warriors were led by a stellar effort from Samantha Shanks who accounted for 35 of Webber Falls 48 total points.

The Lady Pirates will be back in action Tuesday night at home against another group of Pirates from Porter. The Porter Pirates (14-4) topped Gore earlier this season by 9 points.

CSSNOK will be covering that game Tuesday night along with the Webbers Falls District Final game next Saturday against a team to be determined by the opening round of the Class “B” District tournament that begins on Friday.
