
WARNER – The Keys Cougars topped the Okay Mustangs 46-39 to take the 2023 Cherokee Classic crown.
Keys took charge in the first half with a 22-14 advantage and never looked back.
Trenton Nichola and Reed Trimble provide most of the scoring for the Cougars with 10 and 9 points respectively. Nichols finished the game with 19 points and Trimble posted 16 points.
The Mustangs made a push in the third quarter outscoring Keys 18-11 to get within 7 points, but some missed 3-pointers in the final period never allowed them to get any closer. Keys outscored Okay 18-11 in the final period but couldn’t close the gap.
Duckee Swimmer led the charge in the second half for Okay with 13 points (14 total). Diezel Davis was top point getter 15 points.
