VIAN – It is not too often we get the opportunity to cover Junior High Football. On Monday, The Junior High Warner Eagles visited the Vian Wolverines, and we got that opportunity.

Vian won the contest by virtue of a pair of 2-point conversion while Warner failed to convert their three opportunities.

The opening period saw both teams with a staunch defense that kept the game scoreless, but after the opening eight minutes the offenses took over with outstanding long plays with each team finding the endzone.

With the score 22-12 in the final period, the Eagles connected on a 50-yard touchdown strike over the middle to a wide open receiver but failed on the 2-point try due to a bad snap from center to bring the score within 4 points. The Vian offense held possession for the remaining 1:35 to seal the victory.

I would like to thank coach Willis for the opportunity to cover his up and coming players and hope the parents of these young athletes enjoy the photo gallery.
