Gore – The Gore Pirates (6-7) returned to the win column Tuesday night when they outscored the Gans Grizzlies (1-8) in every quarter for a decisive 36-point win 76-40.

Jackson Duke, Noah Cooper and Brady Thomas put the Grizzlies behind early, each hitting 3-pointers and two baskets from the floor for seven points each in the opening quarter.

Ben Kirkpatrick took charge in the second with 8 points to give Gore a 40-19 lead at halftime.

Eleven Pirates contributed to Gore’s total led by Cooper with 15 points and Thomas with 10. Three other Pirates with notable scoring were Kirkpatrick, Bryan McDuffie and Keigan Reid each with 8 points for the game.

Gans was led by Marc Tipton with 16 points and Gabe Brunk with 12. Brunk and Tipton provided 28 of the Grizzlies 40 total points.

The Grizzlies will return to the court Thursday when they take on 2A Central Sallisaw (4-10) while the Pirates are off until next Tuesday when they host  6-4 Keota.
