
WARNER – Neither team could find the basket in the first half Thursday night, but the 18th ranked Class A Liberty Tigers rallied in the final period to top the Warner Eagles 41-37.
The score at the end of the first half was a whopping 12-11 in favor of Warner (7-10) but things would get a bit better after the break.
In the third, the Eagles topped their entire first half output scoring 14 points to gain a 7-point, 26-19 lead thanks to a 10-4 rally that came in the final 4 minutes of the period.
Warner was plagued with foul trouble in the fourth, allowing Liberty (15-5) to tie the game 32-all with 2:32 remaining to play.
The Eagles woes continued in the period with even more foul troubles allowing the Tigers’ Trent Thompson to score 9 points from the charity stripe in the period. Thompson went 11-for-13 from the line scoring a total of 20 points for Liberty.
Jarren Cargil also hit double figures for the Tigers with 11 points.
The Eagles were led by Jaxon Cash with 15 points and Jace Jackson with 12 points.
Warner will play next Tuesday night against Hulbert (8-11), and the Tigers travel to Mounds
