From the onset, Warner couldn’t find the net or a way around a speedy Howe defense that seemed to have them baffled through the entire first half.
The Eagles could only muster 16 points before the break and found themselves in an early hole by a score of 37-16 going into the locker room.
Rebounds were a problem at both ends of the court for Warner while Howe managed several second chances off the offensive boards and held the Eagles to one-and-done at the other end.
The Lions were led by B. Oglesby with 16 points followed by R. Belloth and J. Coggins the other double digit scorer’s for Howe, each with 13.
Both teams will head for Okemah for the next round of Regionals with the Eagles taking the court in the consolation bracket tomorrow night at 6:30 and Howe getting a rest until Saturday in the Winners bracket.
