Adair, with no kicking game at their disposal, attempted a 2-point conversion that failed, and the score remained 6-0 Warriors.

Things went from bad to worse for Vian on the ensuing kickoff with a fumble by Trace Sanders on a punch out, and the Warriors had the ball again on the Wolverines 47 yard line. That drive seemingly ended with what would be first punt of the day by Adair, but with a fake and a pass to Ryan Wilson the drive was still alive at the Vian 25 yard line.
On a 4th and 8 McCord found Ethan Stevans in the endzone for another Warriors score and a 26-6 Adair lead with 4:06 remaining in the half.
With things looking bleak for the Wolverines, Wright shined a little light with a great effort, catch and run, for a 40 yard touchdown to tighten the score to 26-14 with 2:08 remaining in the half.
That light got even brighter after a Wolverine Punch out for an Adair fumble to take over on the Warriors 18 yard line with 2:01 left in the half.
A 13 yard diving touchdown score by Wright, his second in just 45 seconds, made it 26-20, and with an Adair off sides on the extra point try, putting the ball at the 1 yard line, the Wolverines took advantage with a Wright run for 2-points and a 4-point game, 26-22 Adair at the half.
With the Wolverines receiving the second half kickoff and a chance to take their first lead in the game, it was the Fletcher-Wright show once again rushing for a 6 play 63 yard drive and a 29-26 Vian lead with 8:55 left in the third.
A game that saw over 550 total yards of offence suddenly turned into a defensive struggle for both teams.
With no further scoring in the third quarter, the Wolverines opened the final period on the Adair 24 yard line, but a questionable fumble by Vian gave the ball back to the Warriors at the 8 yard line.

After taking their final time out on a 4th down and 4, Cash Trammel got the ball to Fletcher at the 7 yard line to stop the clock with 8 ticks left.
The next play was a toss to Wright in the endzone for the win, but the pass was off Wrights left shoulder pad and the clock stopped again at 4 seconds, giving the Wolverines one last chance for the win.
On the final play of the game for the State 2A-II championship, Trammel tossed the ball into the endzone, but it was picked off by freshman Brett Pursley to give Adair the Satae championship.
Wright and Trammel combined for 219 yards rushing, 93 yards receiving and 4 total touchdowns for the game. Wright finished the season with 1706 total yards rushing on 189 carries and 23 rushing touchdowns along with 8 receiving touchdowns.
